Photograph the piano before the move and note existing finish damage.
Let the instrument acclimatise for two to four weeks in the new room before tuning; the wood needs to reach the new equilibrium first.
Choose the new location before moving day: interior wall, away from vents, exterior doors and direct sunlight.
